What is the difference between MIL and MOA?

MIL (Milliradian): A metric-based angular measurement. 1 MIL = 10cm at 100m. Popular internationally and in competition shooting. Turret clicks are typically 0.1 MIL.

MOA (Minute of Angle): An imperial-based angular measurement. 1 MOA ≈ 2.9cm at 100m (roughly 1 inch at 100 yards). Popular in North America and among hunters. Turret clicks are typically ¼ MOA.

Both are equally accurate — choose based on what system you’re comfortable calculating with. Most SA shooters use MIL.

What is the difference between FFP and SFP scopes?

FFP (First Focal Plane): The reticle scales with magnification, so holdover and windage marks are accurate at any power. Ideal for long-range shooting.

SFP (Second Focal Plane): The reticle stays the same size regardless of magnification. Holdover marks are only accurate at one specific magnification (usually max). Popular for hunting.

What is the difference between VPR, VHR and KLBOX reticles?

VPR (Versatile Precision Reticle): A Christmas-tree style reticle with holdover dots for windage and elevation. Ideal for long-range precision shooting where you need quick holdover references.

VHR (Versatile Hunting Reticle): A cleaner, simpler reticle designed for hunting. Less clutter in the sight picture while still providing basic holdover marks.

KLBOX (Kill Box): Found on LPVO scopes (EP-8, LH-6). A large centre illuminated box for fast target acquisition at close range, with a precise centre dot for longer shots. Perfect for close-quarters to mid-range.

Are Arken Optics scopes waterproof?

Yes. All Arken Optics scopes are nitrogen-purged, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof. They are rated for all weather conditions.

What is the Precision Tracking Guarantee?

Arken Optics guarantees that turret adjustments are accurate and repeatable. If your scope does not track as specified, we will replace it.
